Barton Chase Photography - Tiled

Tiled Visions With Mikky Hayes

I went through a period a few years ago where I did more glamour than I do these days.

In all honest I always said I would never do glamour as it was not my kind of thing.

Alas one day while speaking to an old and trusted friend of mine who was returning to modelling I am afraid I changed my mind for the pure reason of money. She had done glamour shoots back when magazines like Nuts and Zoo where publishing and so over a couple of glasses of wine we teamed up with the intention of making a lot of money with glamour shoots.

What I very quickly found out is that with Instagram, Only Fans and a plethora of other outlets that there is no money left in the glamour photography industry and I re directed my aim almost totally to fashion.

Occasionally though I get the urge to do a glamour shoot as a photography style. I think the main part is that they are fun. For reasons I am not sure I can define a lot of the funny stories I have about Photoshoots come from when doing a glamour shoot.

I have worked with the truly amazing and lovely Mikky a few times and she is always a joy to work with. I have worked with her on dance shoots, location shoots, promo shoots and on a fashion catwalk shoot. And she is always fabulous.

And it has to be said that she had never shown the slightest inclination to do any kind of lingerie shoot.

One evening I was mooching about it came to mind I wanted to this shoot and really wanted Mikky to model for it as I thought she would be incredible for the concept. I frequently get carried away by an idea so without giving it a second thought I dropped her a message to ask if she would be interested and then panicked as it occurred to me she had never shown any inclination to do such a shoot.

Happily she was unoffended and even more delightfully agreed to do the shoot and I am so glad that she did as I think we came up with some truly awesome images.

While I love all of the outfits from this shoot I must confess a particular fondness for the 1950's style pink pin up outfit and the cheeky period appropriate cheeky smiles that Mikky pulled.
